While we do all we can to prevent the need for replacement piping, from time to time our customers need this service. When this occurs, we offer several options for pipe replacement. Perhaps the most popular option offered by General Plumbing technicians is trenchless plumbing pipe replacement.
This pipe replacement method is extremely beneficial when the pipe is in or beneath the home’s foundation. Rather than digging up the pipe, one of two methods are used:
- Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP): This is the right solution when just a single end of the pipe is damaged or broken and it is accessible. A fiberglass matting coating is placed over the affected end that has soaked in resin, which is attached to an inflatable bladder. This becomes the new part of the pipe.
- Pipe Bursting: If both ends of the pipe are exposed, and there are no other obstructions, pipe bursting is possible. This only works with certain pipes and should be handled by our professional technicians only.
