Ways to Unclog Your Sink

Do you know how to unclog sink drain blockages? When your kitchen or bathroom sink is clogged, there are several different ways you can fix this issue. Here are three methods you can use:

  • Use a Plunger. First, fill the sink partially with hot water and then place the plunger over the sink drain. If there are two sides, you may need to plug the other sink with a cloth. This will allow the pressure to be focused on the side of the sink with the clog. Move the plunger quickly up and down. Once you pull the plunger up from the drain, you should see the water begin to drain. Repeat the plunging until it is unclogged.
  • Baking Soda and Vinegar. Put some gloves on and use a cup to bail out the water from the sink and pour it into a bucket. Take a cup of baking soda and put it down the drain. Then pour a cup of vinegar into the opening. To force the vinegar down, put the stopper in the opening. After about five minutes, the solution should unclog the drain.
  • Snake the Drain. Place the snake cable down the drain and twist it clockwise as you push down. Once you start to feel some resistance, try to hook the item that is clogging the sink, and then slowly pull it up.
